DIVERSE WOODLANDS ARE OUR PASSION

For thousands of years, our ancestors depended on forests for food and shelter, forging a deep connection with them and an innate understanding of how to harvest resources while sustaining a healthy forest. We still rely on forests today, but most of us have lost that connection. Now we seek a deeper bond with the natural world, recognising that a stronger connection leads to greater care and stewardship of our forests.

That’s why we created the Loskin Wood Experience: to help rekindle this bond. By sharing the story of creating a thriving new productive woodland for both people and nature, managed through continuous cover forestry, we aim to inspire others to reconnect and reimagine how forests can be part of their lives.

MIDGES

Scotland’s west coast is famous for its beautiful scenery and, in the warmer months, infamous for its midges. These tiny flying insects are most active from May to September, especially on calm, damp days at dawn and dusk.

For your comfort we will provide citronella candles and midge repellents which can help.

We've set this as the minimum stay to make sure you have the time to truly experience all that Loskin Wood offers.

CONSTRUCTION DELAYS

We are still building the Loskin Wood Experience and although we expect to be ready by before January we have to be open about the possibility of unforeseen delays.
